Toyota's city car gets a black and red makeover with new x-cite model

Toyota Aygo x-cite

Yet another member of the Toyota Aygo family has landed in the form of the new Aygo x-cite, and it’s on sale now.

The new x-cite model is only available as a five-door, and it only comes in one colour – a bright gloss red, with contrasting black accents.

With a roof and door mirrors finished in gloss black, the same finish is applied to the car’s trademark ‘X’ stylised front end. In addition, new A-pillar extensions appear in black alongside a rear-bumper insert.

The exterior look is rounded off with a set of 15-inch twin five-spoke alloy wheels, finished in a glossy black with red centre caps.

A similar red and black colour combination continues in the cabin. The sports seats get a new upholstery pattern combining black fabric with red bolsters and contrast stitching. The upper door trims and air vent surrounds are black too.

In terms of equipment, automatic air conditioning is included as standard alongside automatic headlights. Inside, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system links up to a rear reversing camera.

Under the bonnet sits the Aygo’s 69bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, while customers get a choice of a five-speed manual or an optional x-shift automated manual gearbox. Prices start at £12,520.

What do you make of the Aygo x-cite? Let us know in the comments.
