The MINI range is more diverse than ever, but this official fire brigade MINI Countryman - spotted by Auto Express reader Jonathan Strideat the Weymouth Olympic sailing venue - is unusual.
The fire brigade have been loaned five Countryman models by MINI to use for minor incidents and busy events just like the Olympics. Each one can carry two firefighters, six fire extinguishers, torches, ropes and medical kit.
While it still looks like a standard Countryman, the reflective paintwork and flashing blue lights will ensure that people are quick to get out of the way.
The response to the MINI fire engine has reportedly been so positive that the fire brigade are keen to keep using the Countrymans long after the Olympics.

is it going to put the fire out with all of its ugly?
Great idea! But why do some people put down the Mini so much? Because it's successful, I suppose.
