Kennedy Professional KEN-572-6040K review

The small details always mark out the winners.

Kennedy Professional KEN-572-6040K
Overall Auto Express rating

5.0

Best price: £22.67

Set: 9 x plain slot, 4 x Phillips

The small details always mark out the winners, and this Professional set from Kennedy is the same, as some of the plain slot screwdrivers have parallel, rather than flared, shafts, which prove invaluable on many car jobs.

Stubby drivers in both plain slot and Phillips configurations come into their own when space is tight, and it’s a bonus that all tips are strongly magnetic – perfect for fishing out recessed screws or dropped clips. While the handles aren’t the best on test, their rounded-off triangular shape is very easily gripped. Extra torque is also available thanks to nuts cast into some of the tools’ stems.

Zip-merging is fairer, faster and recommended by all the experts. So why do UK drivers refuse to do it?

Steve Walker is completely flummoxed as to why UK drivers can’t get their heads around this simple principle.
