DABmotion
Overall Auto Express rating

4.0

Best price: £149.99

The hard-wired DABmotion kit consists of a box that sits behind and attaches to the original FM radio, plus a control unit that sticks to the dashboard. Unlike the winning Pure adaptor, there’s no display, so as with the AutoDAB, station information is relayed on to the original radio’s screen. Still, operation is slick, and DAB reception only just inferior to the top two. Signal broke up very rarely, and wasn’t enough to be annoying.

Zip-merging is fairer, faster and recommended by all the experts. So why do UK drivers refuse to do it?

Steve Walker is completely flummoxed as to why UK drivers can’t get their heads around this simple principle.
