Jaguar XJ targets 7 Series and S-Class with new upgrades - pictures
Jaguar has <span>comprehensively updated the XJ range in a bid to maintain as a competitor to the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series.</span>
The petrol engines remain the same in the XJ, but the heavily upgraded 3.0-litre diesel now produces 296bhp and 700Nm of torque. This engine also now meets Euro 6 emissions regulations.

<span>Two new trim levels have been introduced for the XJ, consisting of the R-Sport model and this pictured top-spec Autobiography.</span>
The Autobiography model will be available long-wheelbase style only, with a choice of the 3.0-litre diesel or 503bhp variant of the 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 Petrol.

<span>Full LED lights, and twin ‘J-Blade’ daytime running lights are part of the upgrades up front on the XJ.</span>
<span class="s2">The rear of the XJ will recieve the new ‘J-signature’ in the tail-lights. </span><span class="s1"></span>

<span>A new rear seat entertainment package is now available as an option on the XJ, adding two widescreen 10.2-inch screens that fold away when not in use.</span> <span>A 26 speaker, 1,300W Meridian sound system is also available.<
The main update inside the XJ involves the new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. The eight-inch touchscreen is now customisable, recognising pinch, zoom and swiping gestures.
