New Kia Sorento ‘Edition’ shakes up SUV range

The Kia Sorento ‘Edition’ replaces all trim levels and starts from £49,495

Kia Sorento Edition (black)

Kia has revised the entire Sorento line up, with the new ‘Edition’ replacing ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘4’ trim grades. The simplification of the seven-seat SUV should help with ‘streamlining the production and delivery process’ of the Sorento, says Kia.

The ‘Edition’ is based on the outgoing 4 trim level, bringing plenty of black exterior styling. The front grille, mirror caps, roof rails and side window trim are finished in black as are the 19-inch wheels. On top of this the Edition features a panoramic sunroof, customisable head-up display and a powered tailgate. Three exterior colours are available on the Edition; White Pearl, Graphite or Midnight Black.

Inside there’s a Bose sound system, wireless phone charger; 10-way adjustable driver’s Seat with lumbar support, front and rear heated seats as well as front ventilated seats. Safety equipment is made up of remote parking assist, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, a 360 degree camera and a blind spot view monitor.

The fourth-generation Sorento’s range of engines will remain with the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol mild-hybrid, 2.2-litre diesel and the 1.6-litre petrol plug-in hybrid. The diesel model gets an exclusive, larger 20-inch wheel design finished in black.

Kia says that the Sorento Edition is available to order now with first deliveries at the beginning of 2023. The updated range kicks off with the diesel at £49,495, then the mild-hybrid at £50,995. Pricing for the plug-in hybrid has yet to be announced.
