New Mercedes X-Class V6 pick-up prices confirmed

Full specs for the new six-cylinder Mercedes X 350 d announced, with prices starting from £38,350 excluding VAT

Mercedes has confirmed full prices and specs for its new V6-powered X 350 d pick-up. Available to order now, the new model is priced from £38,350 excluding VAT, which makes it £7,840 more expensive than the previous range-topping X-Class, the X 250 d. Including VAT, the new model costs £46,020.

The X 350 d is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 producing 254bhp and 550Nm of torque. It’s paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. That’s 34bhp up on its closest rival, the Volkswagen Amarok, while the pair are matched for torque.

The V6 allows the X 350 d to cover the 0-62mph sprint in a very un-pickup-like 7.9 seconds. It’ll also come with Merc’s Dynamic Select drive mode switch, allowing owners to switch their truck from Comfort through Eco, Sport, Manual and Offroad.

In addition, the X-Class gets a low-range reduction gear with three additional drive modes. The 4MAT setting is for on-road driving, while the 4H and 4L setups improve traction in tricky situations. Power distribution is fixed 40:60 front/rear, which Mercedes says ensures “improved vehicle dynamics and higher lateral acceleration on the road” as well as “better traction during acceleration”.

The X 350 d will be available in one trim level, called Power - a step above the Pure and Progressive equipment lines for the smaller four cylinder diesels. Standard equipment for the Power includes chrome trim for the side strips and bumpers (with an integrated step at the back) LED head and tail lights, keyless go, electric driver and passenger seats trimmed in artificial leather, and cruise control.
