The 85D is the Tesla Model S electric car in four-wheel-drive guise.

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Model S is as refined as ever, but with motors on each axle giving 4WD, it has more grip.</span></p>

Peak power is 422bhp.

<p class="p1">The cabin is dominated by 17-inch screen, while TFT dash features an energy monitor that plots the power you use.</p>

The 0-62mph sprint takes 4.4s.

Rear legroom is on a par with other executive saloons.

A generous boot brings up the rear.

<p class="p1">As the 85D doesn’t have an engine, there’s extra storage <span class="s1">space in the nose. However, it has less room than</span> the rear-drive car due to the motor located under the front bulkhead.</p>

The estimated range is 310 miles.

<p class="p1">&nbsp;The plug socket is hidden behind tail-light reflector. One of Tesla’s Superchargers can add 170 miles of range in half an hour, but standard mains charging takes a lot longer.</p>
