The Fiesta won’t be the only new car on Ford’s stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show – a revised Focus will be there, too!
And ahead of its world debut, Auto Express can expose the fresh family hatchback’s look for the first time.
Ford is ditching the current car’s conservative styling in favour of a more dramatic appearance in line with the latest Mondeo and Fiesta. And while this prototype is wearing some disguise, the new nose – with its raised bonnet, revamped headlights, fresh grille and reprofiled bumpers – is clear to see.
Key to the new model range will be an ultra-efficient variant dubbed the ECOnetic. Its 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine will emit only 115g/km of CO2 and return fuel economy of nearly 70mpg.
Inside, there will be a new C-MAX-style centre console, complete with uprated audio and navigation equipment. Under the skin, the changes are less significant, however. The existing range of petrol and diesel engines is to be carried over, although tweaks to the suspension will enhance the Focus’s driver appeal.
