Autobrite Tyre Gloss

Autobrite's dressing for your rubber maintains that 'as new' look

Autobrite Tyre Gloss

Price: £7 (500ml)

Apply new Tyre Gloss, and you won’t have to clean your tyres again for at least a month – that’s the claim from Autobrite. The dressing is not only said to restore that ‘as new’ look, but also maintain it over time.

Does it deliver? We rinsed a control tyre with a hose and left it to dry. We then used Autobrite on a separate tyre.

There’s no applicator in the £7 package, but we poured a generous amount on to a sponge and spread it liberally around the sidewall. Put on too much, and the clear formula can run, although it didn’t stain our alloy. The dressing immediately added an impressive shine, and made the rinsed wheel look grey.

After one week, you could tell even more clearly which tyre had merely been hosed down with water, and which had been coated with Tyre Gloss. Even a month later this was still obvious, and we love the way simply cleaning your rubber rejuvenates the look of the entire car, even when you haven’t touched the bodywork.

Verdict

Rating: ★★★★
What is it?
A wipe on tyre shine which claims to last far longer than rivals.
Problems?
Not as simple to put on as spray-on-and-leave products, no applicator pad included.
Why buy?
Competitive price given the size of the bottle, adds impressive shine and maintains it.
