Rimblades wheel protectors

Budget buy

Each pack of Rimblades contains four rubber strips, detailed instructions and cleaning wipes.

Fitting is simple – unlike Alloygators, you can leave the tyres inflated. Simply clean the wheel, peel back the sticky tape, press the thin rubber strip on to the edge of the alloy and keep going until you reach the point where you started. Then cut the rubber with a pair of kitchen scissors.

Yet while fitting is impressive, the protection this product offers is anything but. The rubber doesn’t stand up well to knocks, and showed damage after our kerb test. Plus, we’re not sure the sticky tape would withstand a pressure washer blast. Cheaper, but not as durable.
