While the plastic case looks perfect for keeping this kit together in a drawer, it’s thin – little more than packaging in reality. But overall, this is a good-looking set that almost justifies its cost. None of the tools is small, although we expect bigger than 175mm combis and 160mm sidecuts at this price. Still, better-than-average quality shines through in the tools’ smooth action, despite non-existent play. The water pump pliers – which are often sloppy – are especially impressive in this respect. Only a surprisingly poor result from the long-nose pliers in the chop test let the side down.
