Lamborghini LP550-2 Balboni

A tribute to the firm's test driver Valentino Balboni, the LP550-2 is the most hardcore Gallardo ever

Named after and built for Lamborghini’s chief test driver, the LP550-2 is the wildest Gallardo ever built. Everything on the car is setup for Balboni’s personal preferences - the driven wheels, the power, the brakes and even the options list.

Gone is the safer and heavier four-wheel drive transmission – in its place is a rear-wheel-drive set up which means nimbler handling and tail slides a-plenty.

Factor in Lambo’s legendary 5.2-litre V10 churning out 550bhp and the result is 0-60mph in 3.9seconds and a 199mph top speed – despite having 10bhp less than the LP560-4.
