Nissan Juke R 2.0 review - pictures

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - front action

This is the latest incarnation of the hardcore Juke. It's the Juke-R 2.0 and is powered by a 600bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 from the Nissan GT-R supercar.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - rear cornering

It's got a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a sophisticated four-wheel drive system under the skin.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - interior driving

Inside, it's not quite the same as the standard Juke. There's a roll cage, Alcantara trimmed bucket seats with four-point harnesses and other features nabbed from the GT-R.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - front cornering

Straight line speed is almost comical, but in the corners there's a bit of understeer.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - action

Lift off the throttle mid-bend and the Juke-R bites into the tarmac and allows you to ruthlessly accelerate out the other side.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - rear action

Flicking it into R mode means you can loosen the reins on the stability control slightly, allowing you to understand where the limits are of this car.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - interior

There are plenty of clues inside to suggest this Juke isn't quite your average crossover.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - gearlever

Seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is lifted from the GT-R.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - screen

Screen on the dash features all the kinds of telematics you'd expect from a Nissan performance car.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - wheel

Wheels are also lifted straight from the GT-R. Brakes and tyres are suitably large.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - exhaust

Added width to the front and rear tracks provide astonishing levels of grip and high-end stability.

  • Nissan Juke-R 2.0 - front driving

The Juke-R 2.0 isn't confined to the race track. It's completely road legal and Nissan will build you one if you really want it.
