Toyota Auris prices and specs confirmed

New Toyota Auris goes on sale in December, priced from £14,495

Toyota Auris prices

In the run-up to its debut at the Paris Motor Show, prices and specs for the all-new Toyota Auris have been revealed.

The British-built Auris is available in a choice of four trim levels – Active, Icon, Sport and Excel. Entry-level Active models start from £14,495, and comes fitted with air-con, an MP3-compatible stereo and electric windows and mirrors.

Mid-level Icon adds 16-inch alloys, a DAB radio, front foglights and a rear-view camera, while Auris Sport models get 17-inch alloys, sports front seats and a rear diffuser. Prices for an Auris Sport start at £19,245.

Top-spec Excel models start from £20,245, and also get 17-inch alloys, plus black velour seat upholstery (although leather is an option), climate control, cruise control, and Toyota’s new park assist system.

This is the latest version of Toyota’s self-parking system, which scans for spaces big enough to get the car into, and then parks the car for you – the driver just controls the brakes and accelerator. New for the Auris range, the system can now work out how to park on bends, and can also drive you out of a parking space as well as into it.

Options include a 2,340mm by 1,280mm panoramic roof on Excel models, and a comfort pack for Auris Sport cars, which includes rain-sensing wipers, dusk-sensing headlights and keyless go.

The new Auris range goes on sale in the UK in December. All engine options will be available, so the Auris Hybrid will join the 1.33 Dual VVT-i and 1.6 Valvematic petrols and 1.4 D-4D diesel units.

The petrol and diesel models use a six-speed manual transmission, with Toyota’s Multidrive S CVT offered as an option on the 1.6 Valvematic. The Auris Hybrid uses an E-CVT automatic.

The 1.33 petrol engine will be available in Active and Icon grades; the 1.6 petrol in Icon, Sport and Excel; and the 1.4-litre diesel in all trims. The Auris Hybrid will be offered in Icon and Excel versions only.

Prices for the Auris Touring Sports estate and Verso - which will also be revealed at the Paris Motor Show - will be confirmed closer to their on-sale dates in 2013.
