Toyota Aygo x-wave gets convertible roof option

Toyota Aygo gets electric canvas soft-top option to match the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108

It's good news for fans of open-air city cruising, as Toyota has finally brought the folding soft-top from its French sister models over to the Aygo city car. The 'x-wave' roof is an £895 add-on only available on the top-spec five-door Aygo x-pression model.

Already optional on the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, the canvas top is electrically retractable with roof-mounted controls, and extends back to the rear seats for all passengers to enjoy. The roof allows the Aygo to offer a cut-price alternative to 'proper' convertible city cars like the Fiat 500C and Vauxhall Adam Rocks Air.

The flagship Aygo x-pression also features 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, the x-touch multimedia system with DAB and Bluetooth, a reversing camera and air conditioning. It's available to order now with the retractable roof.
