For the first time, the grumbly diesel in the VW Polo BlueMotion has been replaced with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine.

The BlueMotion gets styling tweaks such as a blanked out front grille and unique alloy wheels.

The BlueMotion is based on the S-spec Polo, which means it comes as standard with a leather multifunctional steering wheel, aircon, DAB radio and cruise control.

VW's familiar touchscreen infotainment system includes a 'Think Blue' mode to train you to drive more economically.

Overall the VW Polo BlueMotion is a vast improvement over the previously unrefined and sluggish diesel version.
