Power comes from a new 1.8-litre engine, developing around 160bhp, although full details aren't yet available. A bodykit and 17-inch alloys feature on the newcomer - due in showrooms next year - as do tinted windows, a mesh grille and chrome exhaust pipe.
The Renault Clio rival wasn't the only Toyota to get a Swiss makeover. A beefed-up RAV4, with a tuned D-4D diesel engine, also premiered. The Sports Concept is identifiable from standard models thanks to 21-inch alloys, lowered suspension and tinted windows.
Although the 2.2-litre oil-burner is already offered elsewhere in the firm's line-up, in the soft-roader it gets an extra 26bhp, taking power to 201bhp.
In addition, a cool version of the Aygo city car was displayed. It had 17-inch rims and LED light clusters - but these were the tip of the styling iceberg. The roof and doors were removed, and the cabin trimmed in teak and neoprene!
Also on Toyota's stand was the facelifted Prius. As part of the changes, the hybrid gets a new grille and headlights, plus the option of a park assist system.
