Top-of-the-range Peugeot 208 XY has debuted at Paris and will go on sale in the UK next year

The Peugeot 208 XY has joined the recently unveiled 208 GTi at the Paris Motor Show. While the GTi will be the performance model in the 208 range, the XY will be the most luxurious version of Peugeot’s new supermini.

The 208 XY gets purple hints on the 17-inch alloys and lion badge, while the exterior also features chrome trim on the front grille, fog lamp trims and window trims, and gloss black on the centre pillar. XY badges feature on both the exterior and interior.

The 208 XY will be offered in six colours, including the purple shade pictured here which is new to Peugeot.

As it’s the range topper, the 208 XY gets a panoramic roof, air conditioning, cruise control and a fine nappa leather upholstery, which comes in black, bronze or as a mix of black leather and alcantara.

The Peugeot 208 XY can be had with a choice of three 1.6-litre diesel engines and two 1.6-litre petrols. It is due to go on sale in the UK, in three and five-door forms, in spring 2013, with prices starting at around £16,000.
