Renault has released UK pricing for its new Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo, which starts at £18,995, or £19,995 for the better-equipped Lux. That’s £100 more than the Peugeot 208 GTi and £2,000 more than the Ford Fiesta ST.
As before, buyers who prefer a more focused driving experience can add the Cup chassis for an extra £450. That lowers the ride height by three millimetres, stiffens the suspension by 15 per cent and adds a quicker steering ratio. It also includes red brake calipers and gloss black 18-inch alloys with Dunlop Sport Maxx TT tyres.
Standard equipment includes air-con, keyless start and a built-in seven-inch sat-nav, as well as cruise control, sports seats and Bluetooth. Go for the Lux model and Renault will throw in a higher-spec Arkamys stereo, an R-Link multimedia system, TomTom Live navigation and auto lights and wipers. Option include 18” alloy wheels (£185), rear parking sensors (£315). heated front seats (£250), metallic paint (£495) and dark carbon leather upholstery (£1,000).
Whichever model you go for there’s a 197bhp 1.6-litre tubocharged engine under the bonnet, which helps it scramble from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds – 0.2 seconds faster than the outgoing model.
