Tyre shiners test

Tyre shine is the finishing touch that can make all the difference. Our photographers often use it to produce that showroom-fresh look, so why not follow their lead and invest? It takes only minutes to apply and it’s easy on the pocket. But which is the one to take a shine to? We tried a dozen.

Test
For five weeks we exposed our tyre shines to the worst winter weather. Freezing, wet roads really tested our products, and while some disappeared in days, others could be seen right to the end. The shines were applied to two tyres, which were then driven on. We assessed appearance, price and ease of application.
 

Verdict

A return to form for ex-champ Tyre Slik, which claimed a narrow victory. Simoniz’s Back to Black ‘New Look’ Tyre Shine just had the edge on the car, but price meant Tyre Slik got the nod.
