There's a lot to like about this Garmin. It’s fast, and features clever trafficTrends tech – as with TomTom’s IQ Routes, this tailors directions to suit the time of day. There’s Bluetooth, European mapping and portrait and landscape screen modes. You get eco routing options and an icon to say how green your driving is, plus it works with the £100 ecoRoute HD box to provide diagnostic data. On top of all that, it’s fast – taking two seconds to reroute, plus nine and 10 seconds respectively to work out our trips to Glasgow and France. The mount and menus are easy to use, but it’s held back by its price and the fact you get TMC rather than live traffic updates.
