Three LEDs deliver a tightly focused beam, which limits this torch’s use for under-bonnet work. The round casing makes it hard to balance on sloping surfaces, although the grippy rubber helps if you’ve got oily hands. Charge indicators are useful and it can be revived by an optional 12-volt supply. Its crank was one of the smoothest to use, and it returned an average battery life of 30 minutes.
