Our favourite tyre pressure gauge is also a great tread depth gauge. Like the Laser analogue (opposite), a colour band by the read-out shines red when there’s less than 1.6mm, yellow up to 3.1mm and green thereafter. The 239116 is bulkier than rivals, but the display is easy to read, it was accurate and it survived the drop test. It’s also the cheapest digital device.
