Maps/updates: UK or W Europe/optional extra at point of purchase

This is in Garmin’s new Essential Series of budget sat-navs, but inherits the operating system used by the brand’s old units. It makes the nav feel dated, although the software still works. It’s a no-frills choice, with map updates available as an optional extra when you buy or as a £49.99 one-off purchase, but it’ll get you from A to B.
