Reigning test winner Black & Decker was outgunned this time with the tiny BDCDD18. At just £35.99 for the body - the charger and battery are £44.99 - it was always going to struggle against more comprehensive kits.
The compact design is light and easy to use, plus it was among the best in the durability test. This is no doube due to the lighter demands of the motor, which has just one relatively low speed. Keenly priced, but limited for car work.
