Outdoors GPS app review

Price: Free | Available for: iOS

While only users of Apple devices will be able to take advantage of this great atlas app, it still finishes ahead of its rivals in this test because of its stand-out qualities. Its polished feel and great-looking maps make for a striking first impression – and although you have to pay for maps of specific areas as detailed as 1:25 in scale, you get a free 1:250 version of a national map. Search is easy and it can plan routes.
