IF you want to take on MINI, you need something to rival the firm’s market-leading ‘tlc’ packages – and Citroen has wasted no time. Its new range of DS models is available with FreeDrive back-up, which takes care of scheduled maintenance for the first three years or 35,000 miles – all for only £199. It’s not quite a match for the five-year deal available from its established rival, but the DS3 is cheaper to buy in the first place and the new kid on the block features an ultra-economical model in the line-up which emits only 99g/km of CO2.
