Renault DeZir

Renault supercar combines luxury with stunning pace, electric power shared with firm’s upcoming Fluence Z.E.

The stunning DeZir concept wowed the crowds at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and in Issue 1,139, Auto Express was invited by Renault to a test track in France to get behind the wheel. Fitted with the stiff suspension from the Mégane Trophy racing car, the DeZir wasn’t very comfortable to drive, but with a 148bhp all-electric drivetrain, lightweight Kevlar body and stop-and-stare looks, the gullwinged supercar certainly won us over. The best part, though, is that all future Renaults will borrow styling cues from the DeZir. And you can expect the electric technology to be carried over, too.
