AMG SLS over the Carrera Panamerica

A car as special as the SLS AMG deserves a dramatic backdrop. And where better than the Panamerican Highway – the world’s longest road? We travelled to Mexico in Issue 1,109 to tackle a 2,500-mile section, once used for the infamous road race. With its 563bhp 6.2-litre V8 and gullwing doors, the Mercedes turned lots of heads – and it blew us away with its super-fast double-clutch gearbox, sharp steering and huge pace.
