Three-car garage: Skoda Enyaq, Renault Megane R.S. and Mazda MX-5 for under £60,000

With a family EV, radical hot hatch and nippy roadster, this driveway collection can provide wheels for any occasion

Three-car garage for £60,000

Here we have three very different offerings from the used car classifieds on Auto Express to satisfy both the wants and needs of most drivers. A £60,000 budget is not exactly short change, so you’d expect a couple of special cars to fill your driveway… which our selection achieves pretty successfully.

Skoda Enyaq – £19,200

Skoda Enyaq iV 80 Sportline - front

The Skoda Enyaq was revised earlier this year, so the time is right to strike a bargain on the still-excellent pre-facelift model. Skoda’s family EV gave parent company Volkswagen a bit of a hard time, because it was simply better than VW’s electric offerings – despite using the same platform. Smaller battery, shorter range examples are offered on our site for less money, but we think it’s worth going for the 82kWh model with its impressive 331-mile range.

Renault Megane R.S. – £22,495

Renault Megane RS

Renaultsport is sadly no more, with the meaty Renault Megane R.S. the last of the breed. It was a fitting send-off for the performance division – especially in crazy Trophy R trim – but the punchy R.S. 300 will provide you with enough of the magic that Renault hot hatches became synonymous with. Manuals are available on our used car marketplace, but we’ve gone with the smooth-shifting auto instead.

If you’re not a fan of this Renault Megane R.S., then there are plenty of other Renault models to choose from available in the Auto Express classifieds instead...

Mazda MX-5 – £17,995

Mazda MX-5 - front tracking

Having a choice of weekend drivers’ cars is a ‘problem’ we’d all like to have, and a perfect foil for a front-wheel-drive hot hatch is, of course, the Mazda MX-5. The one we’ve found comes from a Mazda dealer for extra peace of mind, although as it’s done less than 5,000 miles in four years, it should feel brand new. Everyone knows what a hoot the MX-5 is to drive, even though the 1.5-litre version we have here is the less powerful version.

Not totally conviced by this Mazda MX-5? Click the button below to check out the other convertibles currently available on the Auto Express classifieds.
