Three-car garage: used Ford Mustang, MINI Cooper and Volkswagen ID. Buzz for £90k
Renault’s Twingo is the latest retro name to make a return. Here we’ve picked three other successful comebacks that you can buy used on our Marketplace

Nostalgia is a powerful tool and car makers are well aware of this, reviving classic nameplates to tempt us. The Renault Twingo is the latest model from the past to be revived. But there have been other successes in recent years, and we’ve picked three from the Auto Express Buy a Car service.
Ford Mustang - £37,248

For a long time, the Ford Mustang was forbidden fruit for British car buyers, being sold only in left-hand drive form in foreign markets. But that changed in 2015 when the sixth-generation Mustang went on sale in the UK.
We found a refreshed 30,000-mile, 2020 manual-gearbox example for just under £37,250. There are models cheaper than this if you’re willing to have an automatic, but we recommend sticking with the manual, because this will help you get the most enjoyment from the Mustang’s 5.0-litre V8. Toggle switches and retro logos around the car will remind you of pony cars of old, yet this model features all the tech you’d expect from a modern coupé.
Missed this Ford Mustang deal? You can still get V8 driving thrills because there are plenty of Mustangs for sale via our Buy A Car service…
MINI Cooper - £15,500

BMW pulled off arguably the greatest retro-revival success story when it launched the modern MINI brand back in 2001, recreating the British icon for a new century.
The F56 MINI Cooper we found in our classifieds is the third generation of the popular small hatchback, produced between 2014 and 2024, having undergone a refresh in 2021. We picked a facelifted Cooper Classic for £15,500 with just over 24,000 miles on the clock. It comes with a peppy 136bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine, plus a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. The example we found also has diamond-cut alloys, dual-zone climate control, heated seats and an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz - £36,324

Depreciation has hit some EVs hard and while the Volkswagen ID. Buzz has fared better than others, you can get this electric reborn icon much cheaper if you buy used. We saw an 18,600-mile example, finished in the two-tone yellow-and-white launch paintjob, for just over £36,000.
This Life Pro model should be the ideal family car with van-like interior space, but car-like ride quality. VW says the 77kWh battery can cover up to 258 miles and then be topped up from 10-80 per cent in less than 30 minutes using a rapid charger.
If this particular Volkswagen ID. Buzz has already found a new home by the time you get here, you can find plenty more examples available through the Auto Express Buy a Car service…
