MINI One 5-door 2015 review - pictures

The MINI One used to be the weak point of the MINI range, but now it's got a 1.2-litre 3cyl engine providing a bit more poke.

There's 101bhp on offer from the detuned engine from the faster Cooper, and is priced from £14,565.

Inside, the One shows few differences between the more expensive Cooper, but our car came with half-leather sports seats and 6.5-inch central infotainment display.

Visual Boost infotainment display is an optional extra.

Storage in the front is pretty good for such a small car.

Red starter button adds a bit of excitement to the MINI One.

Adding a pair of rear doors adds £600 to the price, but it's worth the extra if you value practicality.

Door opening to the rear is quite narrow, but there's 72mm more rear legroom than the three-door.

Boot weighs in at 278 litres and is competitive with the rest of the supermini sector.

Flexible boot floors adds a bit more flexibility as well.

The One is still entertaining to drive, with direct steering, eager turn-in and minimal body roll.

The ride is decent enough, but it's far from soft and there's a bit of tyre roar on the motorway.
