Volkswagen ID.3 receives new accessory range

The Volkswagen ID.3’s options list expands with a a new range of practical and cosmetic add-ons

Volkswagen ID.3 bike rack

Volkswagen has launched a new line-up of optional accessories for the all-electric ID.3 hatchback, which are available to order online or at a VW dealership now.

Among the new additions for the ID.3 is a custom-made bike rack. It slots into a mount on the hatchback’s rear bumper, but unlike existing bike rack for the ID.3, it also allows access to the car’s boot when attached.

The ID.3’s new bike rack is priced at £1,470 including fitting and is compatible with every version of the EV, except those fitted with the 77kWh Pro S battery.

Buyers also now have their choice of some new door mirror caps in either gloss black or faux-carbon fibre. Prices start from £181 and £191.50 respectively and both can be specified with scrolling indicators for an extra £247 (including fitting).

Finally, buyers can also now choose from two types of interior floor mats, made from either carpet or rubber. The former is priced at £204, while the latter costs £188.

Volkswagen recently dropped the starting price of the ID.3 to £28,670 in the UK, thanks to the introduction of a less powerful 143bhp electric motor and an entry-level Life specification.

The new base-model is powered by a 58kWh battery pack, which offers a maximum range of 263 miles, based on WLTP testing data. When connected to a 100kW DC rapid charger, the cells can also take on an 80 percent charge in 35 minutes.
