Long-term test review: Suzuki Swift - pictures

  • We're chuffed to bits that our Swift has a spare wheel - something of a rarity in new cars these days.

  • Our Swift comes with a spare tyre, but all Swifts sold from February 2015 have had to make do with a repair kit.

  • Tight rural roads get the best from sharp steering, while the rev-happy engine never feels short of pace.

  • Suzuki Swift long-termer - interior

Interior quality isn't great in the Swift, especially compared to newer rivals, but it's one very few complaints we have about the car.

  • Cubbyholes around the cabin ensure the Swift is surprisingly practical and you can keep valuables out of view.

  • Five-speed manual box is great for nipping around town, but the lack of a sixth gear means the engine can feel strained at motorway speeds.

Rear is tight in the Swift, but this hasn't been an issue for us since we've had the car.
