Vauxhall adds OnStar tech to the Corsa and Adam ranges

Vauxhall Corsa supermini gets premium connectivity features in addition to IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment, now the Adam gets it too

Vauxhall Corsa - long term

Vauxhall is keeping it's new cars as up-to-date as possible by adding it's latest connectivity options. The Corsa and Adam are now available with the company's IntelliLink and OnStar systems, which are standard from 'Energy' trim and above on the Corsa, and 'Slam' trim and above on the Adam.

The IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system is now running OnStar software version R4.0 - which brings with it Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These systems enable users of compatible smartphones to run a selection of apps through the screen in the car, including navigation and internet radio. InteliiLink also provides standard Bluetooth as well as a USB interface, and it's all navigated through a 7.0-inch colour touchscreen.

OnStar is a more interesting proposition, and one we're big fans of. It consists of an integrated 4G modem, which can provide a mobile data hotspot - for use with all kinds of devices from smartphones to laptops. The heart of it though is a manned assistance line, which provides services from Automatic Crash Response to Roadside Assistance.

Through the push of a button located on the roof lining, subscribers are able to call for help in an accident or even help finding a place to park. OnStar also provides a smartphone app allowing customers to lock or unlock the car remotely.

The new additions to the Vauxhall Corsa are available now on Energy trim levels and above, and the additions to the Adam are available on Slam trim and above. The first year of OnStar services are free and thereafter it's £79 per year.
