The S class- is a car that feels very safe to drive, it feels solid and the steering is precise, the car has excellent braking. The car handles well and with the choice of three levels of suspension it can handle all road requirements. the S is very comfortable to drive with good seat and steering wheel adjustments, the passengers can travel in luxury comfort.
the auto gearbox is easy too use with a push to left or right with the gearstick changes down or up a gear, you do not have to wait for the engine to kickdown for extra acceleration.
The 320 six cylinder diesel engine is very quiet and can be very quick when needed, with an engine sound that enthusiasts would love, and seems effortless. you really have to keep an eye on the speed odemeter. On the other hand the car is very happy to cruise at 60-70 mph and return a staggering 42 mpg.
The bodywork is shere quality with the doors shutting with a solid click, The paintwork is a joy to clean and although the car is a 52 reg it still comes up as new. The S comes well equipped with a luxury feel to the interior.
my only annoying moment with the S is that my particular model has the 320D engine that has a flat spot on quick getaways. The later engines do not suffer with this.
