520bhp Nissan Juke

The first picture of a Nissan GTR-powered Juke has been leaked

Nissan Juke GTR

Take a look at the Nissan Juke that's faster than a Porsche 911. This one-off crossover is powered by the same 520bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 that powers the Nissan GTR.

The four-wheel drive model will accelerate from 0-62mph in four seconds and on to a top speed close to 170mph. That’s compared to the 1.6-litre DiG-T – currently the fastest Juke – which takes eight seconds to reach 62mph and tops out at 134mph.

The fast Juke gets an aggressive look too, including a lowered ride-height, split rear spoiler and bonnet vents. Inside is a stripped-out, simple cabin designed to save weight.

A Nissan spokesperson confirmed that the car – known internally as ‘Super Juke’ – is just a study at this stage and more details will be revealed further down the line.

Why so ugly?

Carlos Goshen did the world a favour when Nissan was forced to share the Skyline GTR with the rest of the world, something they kept to themselves in Japan with exception of export to selective countries for selective years. This was a Company bleeding red but had a car the rest of the world anguished for and would not sell. So thank you Carlos. However, with the marriage of Renault, Nissan cars took on the design of Renaults and became super ugly, resulting in the current GTR and now the Juke. It is my opinion that were the GTR not as awesome as it is, no one would buy it, and this extends to the Juke which is simply fugly. So why can't Nissan implement some good designs. You like curves Nissan? Hire the guys who design the Hyundais, they know how to do the curves but still make the car beautiful. Still, I’d take one of these and overlook the ugliness.
