Ferrari Cavallino T150i hands-free earphones

Ferrari hands-free earphones are finished in leather and are comfortable - but come at a price

Ferrari makes almost as much from merchandise as cars, and here’s its latest gadget: a set of high-end hands-free earphones.

They’re part of the maker’s Cavallino range of accessories, and based on Logic3’s T150i earphones. We’re still not sure about using wired headsets like this in the car instead of a Bluetooth hands-free like Jabra’s £30 EasyGo, but you can hear your caller clearly with this kit.

The aluminium earphones are finished in high-quality leather, although the microphone picks up a lot of wind noise, so you’ll want to keep the window closed.

The in-line remote is easy to use, with three buttons – to answer or reject a call, and adjust the volume. Click and hold the middle button to call out – this loads your iPhone’s voice-dialling software.

The T150i set isn’t cheap – not surprising given the quality of the finish and the fact it wears the Ferrari badge. But we can’t help feeling the kit is a bit too pricey. The buds sit comfortably in your ear, and are great for listening to music away from the car, yet their noise-cancelling tech isn’t much use to drivers.

So the SOUL by Ludacris SL99 that we tested previously looks a more tempting buy, offering similar sound quality for £90 less than the Ferrari hands-free.
