The six-inch GO6100 gets off to a good start with its premium design and feel. There’s a very intuitive menu, and tapping in addresses is straightforward thanks to a responsive touchscreen. The quality of directions and TomTom’s traffic-busting features are also particularly impressive.

The GO6100 specifies exactly what kind of a traffic jam lies ahead (whether it’s congestion or roadworks etc.), and how long it lasts in both distance and time. With lifetime world map updates, speed camera alerts and traffic warnings, the GO6100 is also very useful in avoiding traffic by providing a logical set of alternative routes while driving. You can also plan routes ahead with TomTom’s MyDrive smartphone connection.
