Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 and DB9 Carbon editions for Geneva 2014

Aston Martin's Geneva Motor Show stand is shaping up to be a special edition fest with two new models debuting

Aston Martin is preparing to unveil two special edition models at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the V8 Vantage N430 will be joined by the DB9 Carbon Black which is also available in Carbon White guise. The new models mark 101 years of Aston Martin production, with mechanical and cosmetic changes marking them out over the standard models.

Both Aston special editions have been decorated with carbon fibre trim inside and out. The Vantage N430 is availble in coupe or roadster form and features new forged alloy wheels, aerodynamic tweaks, a new black front grille, headlamps bezels, tailpipe finishers and clear rear lamps with black surrounds. The N430 is also available with the optional club sports graphics packs inspired by the radical CC100 Speedster concept revealed last year.

Under the skin, Aston has tuned the standard 4.7-litre V8 to develop 430bhp ­– matching the power output of the V8 Vantage S – with power fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or optional seven-speed Sportshift gearbox. A sports exhaust, uprated brakes, tuned suspension and a quick-ratio steering rack have also been fitted as part of the upgrades.

Exclusive detailing inside includes, carbon sill plaques, N430 seat logos, black magnesium paddle-shifts and a leather steering wheel with contrasting stitching. The seats have been crafted out of carbon fibre and Kevlar, helping shed 20kg of weight and are trimmed with an indented Alcantara pattern.

The DB9 Carbon Black and Carbon White editions feature not only lightweight carbon fibre cosmetic tweaks but are also available as Volante models. The elegant GT cars are powered by the same 510bhp 6.0-litre V12 found in the standard DB9. Exclusive features include carbon fibre strikes and black window surrounds. inside, meanwhile, coloured accents match the shade of the brake callipers and bespoke carbon plaques are fitted to the sills.

Priced from £89,995 the special edition Vantage demands a £3,915 premium over the standard V8 Vantage. The DB9 Carbon Black and Carbon White are priced on application at any one of Aston’s 147 UK dealerships. Expect a price tag in excess of the £133,080 charged for the standard model.
