The Falken takes a respectable sixth place thanks to solid results across all surfaces, most notably in braking. It claimed fourth in snow braking and snow traction, and was sixth round the snow lap where it was uncomplicated and easy to drive well as a result, with good front-end grip and a rear resistant to swing. 

In the wet it was solidly mid-field in the key straight-line braking test, taking 33.6m to stop, some 1.7m more than the best, and claim fifth spot. As in the snow, it was sixth on the wet handling circuit where once again it was straightforward, with decent front-end bite and a stable, predictable balance. It was equal fifth around the wet circle and came sixth in both of the aquaplaning tests, some way short of the mid-field standard. 

Fourth in dry braking, 2m off the standard-setting Pirelli’s stopping distance, was backed up by third – its best result – in the close-knit dry handling test where it had the grip and a small degree of adjustability to find all the right lines even when hustled. It was refined and usefully economical too, finishing third in the cabin noise test and fourth in rolling resistance, rounding out a well balanced performance.
