Volkswagen’s premium SUV, the Touareg, is now on sale with prices from under £68,000

Starting with the cosmetic updates, the Touareg facelift is pretty comprehensive. The innovative technology on the car also includes high-tech options such as Trailer Assist for manoeuvring with a trailer, the Area View 360-degree birds eye camera and roof load sensors for increased agility when carrying a roof box. The interior has also received an upgrade for added comfort on longer journeys, including new door panels made of foamed material.

The VW Touareg is available in Elegance, Black Edition and a hot Touareg R versions with five powertrains, all of which are based on 3.0-litre V6s. The diesel TDI comes with 227bhp or 282bhp, while the pure-petrol has 335bhp. Two petrol hybrids are also offered, one with 376bhp and the other with 455bhp, although that’s reserved for the flagship Touareg R, which costs around £80,370.
