Audi RS6

A supercar dressed as an estate - the RS6 is capable of dishing out more than a few surprises at the traffic lights

Audi RS6

May 2009

The power war between BMW’s M-division, AMG Mercedes and Audi’s RS arm had been waging for a number of years, until the RS6 turned up and put and end to the games! Using a 5.0-litre V10 derived from the engine found in Lamborghini’s Gallardo, but fitted with a pair of turbochargers taking power to a dizzying 572bhp, the RS6 has to be the ultimate Q-car.

Despite the estate version tipping the scales at a less-than-trim 2,025kg acceleration is still explosive, with a 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds. Remove the 155mph limiter and the RS6 would easily sail past the 200mph mark… Not bad for a family wagon that can seat five and all their luggage.
