Alerting Trafficmaster’s control centre by means of a motion sensor, the Trackstar Plus system is operational even if the car is towed or taken away on a low-loader. Position updates are received every 20 seconds and, once the vehicle has been found, the RAC will return it to any UK mainland address – as long as it’s not required by the police. The price includes six location checks every year. The higher-spec Trackstar 5 also features
a Driver Authentication Device, so tracking begins even if the thief steals the key.
