New Citroen C3 Shine trim added to supermini’s 2022 line-up

The new Citroen C3 Shine trim level gets snazzy paint jobs and decent kit levels for £16,995

Shine trim has joined the Citroen C3 supermini line-up, introducing colourful paint options and a refreshed list of standard equipment for the brand’s Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20 rival.

Shine models are available in four body colours – Soft Sand, Cumulus Grey, Platinum Grey and Spring Blue – all of which come with an Onyx Black contrast roof. The new model also comes with black inserts in the front bumper and ‘Airbump’ door cladding, with white highlights. A set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels complete the spruce up.

The spec list includes a seven-inch infotainment screen, with DAB and six speakers, and – if you don’t fancy using Citroen’s home-brewed interface, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to mirror the display of your smartphone on the car’s big screen, meaning you can use its reliable voice activation and apps.

Keyless entry and start, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors that fold, an alarm and fog lights are also on the kit list. As are safety features such as speed-sign recognition and recommendation, lane assist and cruise control with a speed limiter.

All models come fitted with Citroen’s 109bhp 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine. It’s hooked up to the company’s EAT6 automatic gearbox, which will be a boon if you often drive in town.

Like all of Citroen’s Shine models, the C3 Shine can only be bought online, with a starting price of £16,995. Or you can have it with a deposit of £4,392 from £169 a month, over 48 months.
