Jaguar C-X75 & Range Rover Sport SVR are latest Bond cars

Jaguar and Land Rover models shown at the Frankfurt show will appear in new Bond film 'Spectre', in cinemas 26 October

Jaguar and Land Rover have premiered the cars that will feature in the new James Bond movie Spectre.

And Bond fans promise to be shaken – not stirred – when they see the exploits of the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Defender in the new movie, which is released in the UK on 26 October.

The return of the C-X75 will be a big thrill for Jaguar fans. The 778bhp four-wheel drive hybrid two-seater concept first appeared at the Paris Motor Show in 2010, and plans to make it available in limited production with a price close to £900,000 were announced shortly after. However these plans were canned in 2012 due to the global financial crisis.

The Spectre C-X75 features in a moonlit chase through the streets of Rome, and is driven by Hinx, played by David Bautista. It was developed by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations Division, in tandem with Williams Advanced Engineering.

The Defenders, also worked on by JLR’s SVO division, feature huge 37-inch diameter tyres plus enhanced body protection to cope with their action scenes in Austria.

The models were unveiled at a special reception in Frankfurt to coincide with the Motor Show, with Bond stars Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) and Bautista in attendance.

Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, John Edwards, said: "For Jaguar Land Rover to once again be a part of the iconic vehicle line ups in one of the most celebrated film franchises in the world represents a proud moment for us. It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase production and concept cars alike and we look forward to continuing this relationship well into the future.”

Previous JLR products to appear in Bond films include a Jaguar XKR convertible in Die Another Day and a Land Rover 88 Series 3 in The Living Daylights.
