New Lister SUV-E Concept revealed as hot take on Jaguar I-Pace

More power and less weight envisaged for Jaguar’s electric SUV by way of Lister transformation

Lister has revealed the first images and technical specifications for the first all-electric car to wear the firm’s 65-year old badge.

Called the SUV-E Concept, the new model is Lister’s very own take on the Jaguar I-Pace, and the company will commit to producing a limited production run pending interest from customers and pre-order numbers.

Lister has revised the I-Pace inside, outside and under the metal. Most obviously, the car gains an aggressive new bodykit to go with its traditional British Racing Green paint job and trademark yellow Lister highlights.

The front bumper is now made entirely from carbon fibre and sports several new aggressive cuts and air vents to aid with aerodynamic proficiency and cooling, while the front splitter, bonnet, rear bumper, rear spoiler and new rear splitter have also been made from the material, with weight saving in mind. In total, the SUV-E Concept is 100kg lighter than the I-Pace on which it is based, tipping the scales at 2,033kg.

The wheel arches have been extended to give the car a wider stance, while the arches are home to new titanium wheels too. Behind them sits new carbon ceramic brakes, and fully adjustable, lowered suspension.

Inside, the SUV-E gains a custom Nappa leather interior, and Lister says that buyers will have a choice of 60 leather colours and 200 stitching colours to choose from. Similarly, while the concept is presented in British Racing Green, customers will be able to paint their cars any colour they like.

Lister has not listed any mechanical changes to the I-Pace’s standard electric drivetrain, which sends power to all four wheels through two electric motors, supplied by a 90kWh battery pack.

The firm says that the powertrain can be tweaked through a software update, resulting in additional power and torque; 0-60mph is estimated to take four seconds flat, but Lister has not revealed any changes to the maximum range of the car on a single charge. Prices, should customer interest mean the SUV-E is built, are estimated to start from £125,000.
