700bhp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk on sale now: price, specs and performance

Just 20 right-hand-drive examples of Jeep's super-SUV heading to the UK this year, with more to follow in 2019

The 700bhp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has gone on sale. Only 20 will make their way to UK shores this year, priced from £89,999. More will follow in 2019, but the exact date of their arrival is yet to be confirmed.

The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has a 0-62mph time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 180mph. Power comes from the same 6.2-litre V8 engine used in the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, producing not only 700bhp, but also 868Nm of torque.

Originaly revealed at the 2017 New York Motor Show, its 3.7-second 0-60mph acceleration is almost more than a second under the 0-62mph time for the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic and 0.4s faster than a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It can't quite match the Tesla Model X P100D's 'Ludicrous Mode' sprint times but a 180mph top speed leaves it third only to the 187mph Bentley Bentayga W12 and the 190mph Lamborghini Urus for outright pace.

Of course, the £89,999 price tag means that the Trackhawk undercuts all of those vehicles significantly in terms of price.

The Trackhawk gets bespoke Brembo brakes to tame all that power, along with unique titanium-finished 20-inch wheels and Pirelli tyres. As well as a stealth-like body kit featuring deeper front and rear bumpers with four beefy exhausts thrusting out at the back, the inside gets a makeover with plenty of leather and metal along with Trackhawk logos. Tech hasn’t been forgotten either – the latest UConnect infotainment system with 8.4-inch touchscreen is fitted, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is standard, along with adaptive cruise control and a system to help connect a trailer if you need to tow – very quickly.
