New Maserati Ghibli Ribelle revealed

Special paint and trim edition of Maserati Ghibli saloon limited to just 200 units

Maserati has revealed the Ghibli Ribelle: a limited run variant of the brand’s mid-size executive saloon, which features unique paint and interior trims.

The Ribelle is a purely a cosmetic special; the most obvious feature is its “Nero Ribelle” mica black paint finish. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, which are painted black and feature contrasting red laser etched highlights on five of the spokes, matching the red brake calipers.

The black and red theme continues inside. Red extends over the top of the dashboard, the instrument binnacle and the door armrests, while the rest is black. A numbered ‘Ribelle’ plaque sits on the centre console.

A selection of extras are added to the Ghibli’s standard kit list, including Matrix LED headlights, a sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system and laminated privacy glass which brings increased thermal and sound insulation.

Any one of the Ghibli’s three engine options can be paired with the Ribelle, all of which are 3.0-litre V6s. The range starts with a 271bhp diesel, which can sprint from 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds and achieves a claimed economy of 37.6mpg. Two petrols sit above the diesel: the 345bhp model covers the 0-62mph benchmark in 5.5 seconds, while the 424bhp variant takes 4.9 seconds.

The Ghibli Ribelle is available to order from the beginning of October. Prices are yet to be announced, but with numbers limited to just 200 units across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, prices are likely to rise above the Ghibli Diesel GranSport’s £59,100 figure.
